My parents are overweight, does that mean I will be overweight?

Genes do play a factor in our tendencies to be overweight or thin. However, just because obesity runs in your family does not mean that you are destined to be obese or even overweight.
Overweight family genes mean that eating properly and exercising becomes much more critical than for those with normal genes. In short, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) states that prevention is the best strategy.
