What about kids? Does the Food Guide Pyramid apply to them?

Yes! The Food Guide Pyramid applies to children as well as adults. However, children should consume smaller serving sizes. 

It is important to include a variety of foods in children's diets. It is better to include two small servings of different kinds of fruit than one regular serving of one kind of fruit.

Offering children a variety of foods from all food groups teaches them to like and eat a variety of foods when they are adults. This is an important part of maintaining good health.
